Custom Reservoir and Roof Panel

Next, I took a hacksaw to my pump to replace the standard barbs with bitspower fittings, which were sponsored by Specialtech after they saw the project. After doing a lot of research on perspex glue, I finally found some which wouldn't dissolve in warm water and glued it all together for testing.

With the roof panel now missing it's bulge, I had to find something to replace it with. Opting for some 10mm thick perspex, I started routing off the edging so it would sit flush with the rest of the case.

This was a lot harder than I thought, having only just bought the router. I went through two pieces of perspex by accident, which was very annoying, but at least I learned how not to use the router.

I also tried my hand at soldering, something which I had never done before. Again, I practised on a few scraps of wire, and then replaced the power and hard disk activity LEDs. These were a lot smaller than my practice piece and I didn't do a great job, but they worked and the solder was hidden from view, so I wasn't too fussed.
